DIGI PDF Print Files were designed to use with your laser printer and foiling - print using Adobe Acrobat or any other software used to print PDF files.

The white areas on both sides of the design were left blank on purpose. This is the area where the rollers fall on most mono laser printers. When printing a lot of solid black images, the rollers can pick up excess toner before it has fully set from the heat and deposit it onto the drum causing a mess for the next printing. If you have a printer where this is not an issue, please feel free to enlarge the design for a full bleed or see the video option below.

Laser Print Setting Recommendations: For the best results select the following in the print window under PRINT SETTINGS before printing to a laser printer:

• Media Type: Thick Paper

Resolution: 600 or HQ 1200

Paper Source: Manual (With the back paper output open (if your printer has this option). This helps reduce paper curling).

Toner Save Mode: OFF

Improve Print Output: Improve Toner Fixing (this really helps with foiling)

OTHER Printing Info & Options:
There are many options available for printing out your KSS Digi Backgrounds.

I personally find the easiest to print pdfs DIGIs from Acrobat Reader (which is free),
Open the file (I just double click on the file and it automatically opens in Acrobat and then either:
1) scroll to the design you want to print and then in the print window, select Current Page
or 2) just open the pdf and then in the print window select Page and enter the page # (1,2,3, or 4) you want to print.

It is also possible to import the PDFs separately into Silhouette Basic Studio (which can be downloaded for free).
Select the following:
ImportImport to Library → select the pdf file from your computer to import.
A window appears where you can select which page you want to import to the "My Own Designs" folder.
Each page will have to be imported separately and saved. This system does allow you more freedom with changing the size of the PDF.

Another printing option is using LibreOffice (see video below)

If you want to convert the files to import into Cricut or SCAL for printing, you can use the free online application i2pdf.

The i2pdf app can do almost ANYTHING to a PDF - even change the color!
Please keep in mind though, when converting files, there is a chance that some digital information can be lost, and when you print the newly saved file, the images may start to look rasterized and lose their sharp, crisp edge.

Below is a helpful video from Tracy Shultz demonstrating how to resize DIGI PDF Print Files with the software LibreOffice.
