Use and Care for KSS Color ID Film

Transferring New Stamps to color ID Film

As of April 2019, we have switched materials for our Color ID Film.

Our ID Film is now waterproof! You can get it wet if you need to.

Just rinse with cool water and drip dry.

If you spill water on your ID film and it clouds up, just rinse with cool water and drip dry.

Cleaning your Color ID Film: Rinse with water and air dry only.

Do not try to wipe clean with anything that may have chemicals in it (this includes baby wipes; regardless of the brand, they do contain chemicals (glyceryl, castor oil, etc).

It is completely safe to store your stamps between the BACK of the color ID film and the second piece of clear film (the same that comes in the original packaging is ideal).

under FAQ for the best way of transferring new stamps to the COLOR ID FILM.

PLEASE NOTE: If you plan on using the ID film to help align your stamps by sticking your stamp to the FRONT of the ID film (OR accidentally place your stamps on the front instead of the back for storing), please be advised that if your stamps are brand new, the stickiness of the stamp can pull the ink off the ID film and stick to the stamp. (This usually happens with darker colors). Depending on how much pressure is applied during contact, this could result in removing a good portion (or all) of the ink from the ID Film.

It is recommended to use your stamps first to "condition them" until the image side of the stamp has lost its “brand new” stickiness. This will help reduce any issues of the stamp removing ink from the ID front.

If you encounter some ink lifting off the front of your ID sheet and it is now on your stamp, your stamp can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol (per the manufacturer).

If you are still having trouble or have any questions regarding this issue, please email us at kitchensinkstamps@gmail.com.
